摘要:对隐藏扇区粒子的性质进行验证和理解的一个新的电子散射实验(E12-21-003)已在Jefferson实验室获得批准。对这些粒子的搜索是由于引入了新的隐藏扇区模型,用于解释各种实验和观测难题:在多个核转变中观测到的$e^+e^-$对的过量,实验与标准模型对于μ子非常规磁性矩的预测之间的4.2 $sigma$偏差,以及宇宙学模拟中的小尺度结构难题。上述所述的X17粒子被假设可以解释从ATOMKI组观测的$^8$Be M1,$^4$He M0和最近观测到的$^{12}$C E1核转变到它们的基态时观察到的$e^+e^-$对的过量。该实验将使用高分辨率电磁热量计来搜索或设置X17和隐匿扇区粒子在3-60 MeV质量范围内的产生速率的新限制,通过它们的$e^+e^-$衰变(或者有限的跟踪下的$gammagamma$衰变)。在这些模型中,1-100 MeV质量范围特别有动机,而该范围的较低部分仍然未被探索。我们提议的直接探测实验将使用一个无磁谱仪设置(PRad装置),来检测一个隐藏扇区粒子在可见衰变中的所有三个终态粒子,以有效控制背景,并在一个单独的设置中覆盖所提出的质量范围。使用经过充分证明的PRad装置可以实现一个准备好运行且成本独特有效的搜索3-60 MeV质量范围内隐藏扇区粒子的灵敏度为8.9$\times10^{-8}-$5.8$\times10^{-9}$到$epsilon^2$,即隐藏和可见扇区之间的动力学混合相互作用常数的平方。
